Shirley Hansen, 80 of Scottsdale, AZ formerly Brookings, SD, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Scottsdale Health, Scottsdale, AZ. Memorial Services have been set for 10:00am Saturday, March 6, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, Brookings. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial Services. Rude’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Shirley was born to Stella (Johnson) and Selmer Rymerson on December 15, 1929, near Toronto, South Dakota. She graduated from Brookings High School in Brookings, South Dakota. She attended South Dakota State University, majoring in journalism.

On June 13, 1948, Shirley married Paul R. Hansen, the love of her life for sixty years. She dedicated her entire life to her family. Shirley was deeply loved and will be greatly missed as she joins her husband Paul, who died one year ago on February 25, 2009.

Shirley is survived by her children Rebecca (Christopher) Lang, Timothy, Pamela (Joseph) Korth, Jonathan, Elizabeth (James) York, her grandchildren, Jim, David and Tom Lang, Timothy Hansen, Michael and Sarah Korth, Laura and Sam Hansen, Hannah, Nate and Ben York. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Jack, Isabelle & Claire Lang, two brothers, Stanley and Sanford Rymerson and three sisters, Sylvia Bren, Sandra Wilber and Sharon Deibert, many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
